MEET OUR REGIONAL MANAGER – CELIA CONNELL
Celia is stepping sideways to I CAN Network from the Queensland State schools sector where she has worked at both Sunnybank State Special School and Alexandra Hills State High School. At Alexandra Hills SHS, Celia has served in roles including Teacher (SWD), Junior Lead Case Manager and Acting Deputy Principal (Inclusion). In these roles Celia has had extensive responsibilities including supervision of teachers, leading report writing for NCCD processes, leading the development of individual curriculum plans, leading behaviour management and at times, managing the daily operations of a large Student Support Centre (with 140 students with a disability).
Celia has several passions which include supporting Autistic students and capacity building others. Celia’s first career steps were in McDonald’s where she grew to become Regional Training Advisor (Inclusion) in McDonald’s Head Office Qld. Celia is married to Chris and they have two children.
