I CAN Network has employed 34 Autistic people and mentored 1,052 Australian young people and adults through schools, TAFEs, workplaces, camps and online programs. Together, we prove what Autistics CAN do.

In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, I CAN Network has created a new program ‘I CAN Schools Online’, available to all primary and secondary schools, nationally from April to September 2020. I CAN Schools Online connects Autistic students with one another through the insights of storytelling and facilitation from our young Autistic mentoring professionals.

We offer weekly one hour, group mentoring sessions for up to 16 Autistic students in both primary and secondary schools. Our primary school program “IMAGINATION CLUB” caters for a range of neuro-diverse students aged 9-12 who have big imaginations.

online mentoring

Our Autistic-led nationwide online group mentoring for Autistic young people aged 9-20. The program, offers a safe, supportive space to openly connect, share interests and discuss common experiences.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Our team members know what it’s like to be that Autistic student finding their way.. so we deliver their personal stories and insights to help teachers, parents and peers create an environment where Autistic young people feel safe, understood and accepted.

SCHOOL HOLIDAY ONLINE PROGRAM

As a response to the COVID-19 outbreak and widespread ‘lockdowns’, I CAN Network is offering an April 2020 School Holiday Online Program nationally. We want to ensure our Autistic kids and teenagers experience connection, belonging and self-esteem during this period of extraordinary disruption. Our staff have been the young people we serve: Autistic young people are our top priority.
