A Personal Note from Two Mums Navigating NDIS
As two dedicated mums navigating the NDIS with our neurodivergent children, we understand the unique challenges you face. The journey can be overwhelming and full of uncertainties. We’re here to share our personal experiences, insights, and practical tips. In this blog post, we aim to provide helpful information on accessing NDIS funding for autism programs. We want to empower you with knowledge, so you can make informed decisions for your child’s growth and engagement.
Understanding NDIS Funding for Neurodivergent Families
As well as being I CAN Online staff, we’re also two mums who navigate the NDIS firsthand with our neurodivergent children – so we truly understand the challenges, confusion and constant changes that many of you are facing. We know how frustrating and overwhelming it can feel at times, especially when you’re just trying to do what’s best for your child. Like you, we’re always looking for affordable, meaningful ways for our kids to stay connected and engaged in an environment that can adapt to their specific needs.
We know there’s a lot of uncertainty right now around recent NDIS changes. While we can only speak from our own experience, below is how we personally use our children’s NDIS funding to access the I CAN Online program. We recommend speaking directly with your Plan Manager, Support Coordinator, LAC or the NDIA to confirm what’s possible in your specific situation.

Navigating Autism Services
Our programs remain more affordable than many similar services. If you think your autistic or neurodivergent young person would benefit from joining us, complete an Expression of Interest form by enrolling in any of our Online Programs. You can find information on the groups being offered here via the Online page. Places are always limited – so we encourage you to get in quickly if you’re interested.

Future Planning: Reports for Ongoing Support
We also offer reports (available at an additional cost) at the end of each cycle, which can support funding recommendations for future NDIS plans. These reports are personally written by us, based on observations of your child throughout the program. We have recently updated them to reflect current NDIS changes so they can support your future therapy planning and funding requests.
We’re here, we hear you – if you have any questions or would like more information about our Online Programs or any other services, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re in this with you and happy to support however we can.
